Construction Project Manager - NYC Key Responsibilities: - Take full ownership of construction projects from initial planning through completion.
- Work closely with preconstruction and estimating teams to define detailed scopes based on drawings and specifications.
- Organize and compile bid packages for subcontractors and vendors.
- Lead the subcontractor bidding process, including outreach, bid evaluation, and RFI management.
- Build and maintain project timelines, ensuring milestones are met within budget constraints.
- Oversee permitting efforts and confirm all approvals are secured before work begins.
- Coordinate with utility companies for timely installation and service activation.
- Supervise field operations alongside site staff to ensure work aligns with project requirements, schedules, and financial targets.
- Track procurement schedules and manage long-lead items to avoid delays.
- Direct subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Handle contract changes, including change orders and progress billing, in collaboration with finance.
- Address and resolve field challenges quickly to keep projects moving forward.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and the design team, including architects and consultants.
- Run project meetings and maintain clear communication among all stakeholders.
- Produce monthly progress reports with updated schedules, logs, and required documentation.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project performance.
Qualifications - At least 6 years of experience managing construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Background in both new construction and interior fit-outs is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools such as Procore and Microsoft Project, along with standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with strong communication skills.
- Well-developed organizational and coordination skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Experience working on projects within New Jersey preferred.
- Willingness to split time between job sites in NJ and an office/home base in NYC.
