We're seeking a highly experienced
Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) with strong HVAC design expertise to lead engineering projects, manage teams, and support both design and construction phases across commercial, educational, and institutional work.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical preferred)
- 15+ years of engineering experience, including 7+ years managing teams
- Experience with commercial, educational, and institutional projects
- Strong project management background
- Proposal writing and construction cost estimating experience
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and public bidding procedures (NJDOE, NJSDA, DPMC, DMAVA)
- Skilled in report writing, energy analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team‑building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- AutoCAD and/or Revit proficiency
- Experience with load calculation software (Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, etc.)
Primary Responsibilities - Lead engineering projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and deliverable oversight
- Conduct site visits to document existing conditions and prepare field reports
- Prepare project reports, feasibility studies, cost estimates, and technical documentation
- Oversee development of construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, vendors, building officials, and consultants
- Attend meetings throughout all project phases (pre‑proposal through close‑out)
- Manage construction administration activities
- Lead and mentor small teams of engineers, designers, and drafters
- Provide technical guidance to clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and internal policies
- Support development of junior staff through hands‑on training and leadership
