Senior Construction Inspector

We are seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our growing team in Connecticut. This is an excellent opportunity to work on transportation and infrastructure projects while collaborating with an experienced team in a stable and growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Inspect roadway and transportation construction projects to ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, and specifications.
• Verify that materials delivered to the project site meet project requirements.
• Review construction plans and identify potential issues or non-compliance.
• Maintain accurate field reports, inspection logs, and project documentation.
• Perform quantity calculations and other engineering-related computations.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Monitor material quality and coordinate required testing.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, project managers, and client representatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred. NICET Level III certification may be considered in place of a degree.
• At least 6 years of experience in construction or related trades.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Construction Inspector with site and civil construction projects.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Experience using web-based project management and submittal systems.
• Understanding of construction scheduling and its impact on project delivery.
• Experience with state DOT transportation projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to maintain detailed field documentation and perform quantity calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
