We are seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our growing team in Connecticut. This is an excellent opportunity to work on transportation and infrastructure projects while collaborating with an experienced team in a stable and growing organization.
Responsibilities
- Inspect roadway and transportation construction projects to ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, and specifications.
- Verify that materials delivered to the project site meet project requirements.
- Review construction plans and identify potential issues or non-compliance.
- Maintain accurate field reports, inspection logs, and project documentation.
- Perform quantity calculations and other engineering-related computations.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Monitor material quality and coordinate required testing.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, project managers, and client representatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred. NICET Level III certification may be considered in place of a degree.
- At least 6 years of experience in construction or related trades.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Construction Inspector with site and civil construction projects.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Experience using web-based project management and submittal systems.
- Understanding of construction scheduling and its impact on project delivery.
- Experience with state DOT transportation projects is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and inspection procedures.
- Ability to maintain detailed field documentation and perform quantity calculations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
