Plumbing Engineer

We are seeking a Plumbing Engineer to join our growing MEP engineering team. This position involves the design and coordination of plumbing systems for healthcare, government, commercial, institutional, and other technically complex facilities. The ideal candidate has experience designing medical gas systems and can manage projects from design through construction.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, storm, vent, natural gas, and specialty piping systems.
• Design and coordinate medical gas systems for healthcare and medical facilities.
• Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Coordinate plumbing designs with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and architectural teams.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable plumbing codes, NFPA standards, healthcare regulations, and project requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and owners.
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support.
• Conduct site visits and assist with field coordination during construction.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting project schedules.

Qualifications

• Medical gas design experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of plumbing design experience within an MEP consulting engineering firm.
• Experience designing healthcare facilities is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of the Florida Plumbing Code, NFPA 99, and other applicable codes.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• EIT or PE license
