Mechanical Project Manager – Public Agency & IDIQ Contracts Location: Brooklyn, NY (Projects across 5 boroughs)

Our client are a well-established mechanical contractor with a long track record of success on public agency and IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity) contracts, and they are seeking an experienced
Mechanical Project Manager to lead complex projects throughout the NYC region.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage multiple mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, with a strong emphasis on public agency and IDIQ contract work (e.g. NYCHA, DDC, DEP, DASNY, SCA, etc.).
- Coordinate with public agency reps, general contractors, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project scope, schedule, and budget are maintained.
- Oversee mechanical systems installation, including boilder replacements, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, ensuring compliance with local codes, specs, and safety standards.
- Lead project scheduling, RFIs, submittals, change orders, progress billing, and procurement efforts.
- Ensure all deliverables and milestones on IDIQ task orders are met on time and on budget.
- Manage field staff and subcontractors, providing leadership and maintaining accountability.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation and reporting for public entities.
- Attend job meetings, walk-throughs, and inspections as required by agency protocol.
Qualifications: - Minimum 7+ years of mechanical project management experience, with at least 3 years managing public agency or IDIQ projects.
- Proven success overseeing HVAC/plumbing/fire protection scopes on institutional or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working under agency-specific guidelines and payment structures, including familiarity with PASSPort and other procurement platforms.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, building codes, and agency QA/QC requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Procore, MS Project, Primavera, or similar PM software platforms.
