Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experience Mechanical Engineer with experience in building systems to support the design and delivery of mechanical systems for a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC design and experience working on federal projects.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and government buildings
• Develop mechanical plans, layouts, specifications, and construction documents
• Perform HVAC load calculations and equipment selections
• Design and review mechanical systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Work on projects from initial design through construction
• Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation
• Participate in project meetings and communicate with clients, contractors, and project teams
• Help develop project schedules and budgets
• Conduct site visits and assist with construction administration as needed

Qualifications

• 6+ years of mechanical engineering experience in building systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience working on federal projects is required
• Strong HVAC design experience
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and federal requirements
• Strong technical and communication skills
• Ability to manage project responsibilities and meet deadlines
• PE license preferred

Project Experience

Experience with federal, government, commercial, healthcare, higher education, military, or other large-scale building projects is highly valued.
