GC Superintendent

About the Role
 
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Superintendents to join our team on School Construction Authority (SCA) projects throughout New York City. We are open to candidates at multiple experience levels — from entry-level supers looking to build their careers to highly experienced professionals with a strong SCA track record.
 
As Superintendent, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of public sector construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
Responsibilities

• Oversee daily onsite construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and SCA requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and field staff to maintain schedule and quality.
• Conduct site safety meetings, enforce OSHA and SCA safety standards, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Track project progress, prepare daily reports, and communicate updates to the project management team.
• Work closely with project managers, owners, architects, and SCA representatives.
• Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and cost impacts.
• Mentor and support assistant superintendents or junior field staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with a General Contractor on commercial or public sector projects.
• SCA project experience highly preferred; knowledge of SCA protocols and standards is a plus.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
