We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the electrical design of commercial and institutional building projects while working closely with project managers, architects, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design for building projects, ensuring technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Perform code reviews and research, including NEC and NFPA requirements.
- Review construction progress and respond to RFIs and other construction administration items.
- Review the work of other engineering teams for quality and code compliance.
- Participate in electrical engineering standards and quality improvement initiatives.
- Select electrical equipment and systems appropriate for project requirements.
- Coordinate directly with clients, architects, and project managers throughout the design process.
- Conduct site visits, field investigations, and existing conditions surveys.
- Prepare electrical specifications and construction documents through project completion.
- Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines and architectural teams.
- Provide technical support during construction and assist with field-related issues.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for project leadership.
- Help manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Develop construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Present design concepts to clients and participate in project meetings as needed.
- Perform field engineering duties during construction when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings.
- Strong knowledge of building electrical systems, energy usage, and electrical design principles.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Thorough understanding of applicable electrical codes and standards, including NEC and NFPA.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Commitment to staying current with industry trends, technologies, and code updates through continuing education and professional development.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.
