Assistant Project Manager

About the Role:
We’re seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) with experience in the commercial construction sector, ideally with a focus on drywall, framing, and acoustical systems. The ideal candidate has prior exposure to union trades and is proficient with Plexxis, supporting the Project Management team in delivering high-quality commercial interior projects across New York and New Jersey.
Responsibilities:

• Assist in the coordination and execution of commercial interior construction projects from start to finish
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to ensure project schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met
• Create and maintain submittals, RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes
• Review architectural and structural drawings, ensuring alignment with project scope
• Track project documentation and progress using Plexxis project management software
• Coordinate material procurement and deliveries with vendors and suppliers
• Interface with general contractors, subcontractors, and union labor as needed
• Support cost tracking, budgeting, and billing processes

Qualifications:

• 1–4 years of experience in commercial construction, ideally with union subcontractors
• Strong knowledge of drywall, framing, ceilings, or related trades
• Plexxis software experience is required
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Compensation:

• Competitive base salary: $75,000 – $95,000 (depending on experience)
• Bonus potential
